The masterclasses, focusing on the practice and performance of Franz Schubert Art Songs, will occur daily across the week of the festival and culminate in a presentation concert where the singer-pianist duos will perform. The daily masterclasses will be free to attend for music students and the community. Singer-pianist duos will be selected through an invitation-based application process. World renowned baritone and art song expert, Benjamin Appl, and esteemed pianist and Oxford Lieder Festival artistic director Sholto Kynoch will lead the 2023 Masterclass Series
